The influence of additional elements such as Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Y and Al on the high temperature corrosion resistance Of Co‐Cr alloys in air, hydrogen sulphide and in combustion gases was investigated. The reaction kinetics, the microstructures and the distribution of the elements in the corrosion scales were determined. In addition, the hot corrosion mechanism was studied by means of sulphidation‐oxidation tests.
