Cover: High‐resolution 13 C solid‐state NMR revealed two hydrogen bond systems in α ‐chitin. The carbonyl oxygen was either intermolecularly hydrogen‐bonded to NH (blue; carbonyl 13 C NMR peak at 173.5 ppm) or hydrogen‐bonded both intermolecularly to NH and intramolecularly to C(6)‐OH (red; 175.8 ppm peak). The former accounts for about 60% of the carbonyl groups and the latter for about 40%. Further details can be found in the Communication by T. Kameda, * M. Miyazawa, H. Ono, and M. Yoshida on page 103.
