Berger believes that with dizzying change, leaders have an almost unprecedented scope to shape and create the future. They must move beyond good judgment to cultivating wisdom. She explains how our minds and emotions develop, leading to a goal of a “self‐transforming” form of mind, even higher than the highly evolved “self‐authored” one: “These leaders can use the tension of very different stakeholders to create innovation rather than discord. They see the biggest picture and reach far into the future in their vision. They hold the often‐conflicting requirements of health of individuals, organization, community, and the planet simultaneously.”
