Practical models for light distribution in laser‐irradiated tissue

The distribution of light in laser‐irradiated biological medium is computed using four different procedures. Values computed with Beer's law of attenuation, Kubelka‐Munk theory, the diffusion approximation, and a seven‐flux model are compared. the proper conditions for using each model are discussed.
