The use of the carbon dioxide laser in treatment of laryngo‐lracheal lesions is extremely effective when combined with general anesthesia. However, the potential for intraoperative complication is increased due to a pathological reduction in the size of the airway and the presence of an endotracheal tube. To avoid the hazard of endotracheal tube ignition, specific techniques are employed.
