Eleven borate ester compounds were synthesised and their hy‐drolytic stabilities were compared. The results indicated that the hydrolysis problem of borate esters can be solved by introducing N, N‐dialkylamino‐ethanol with alkyl groups containing more than or equal to 4 carbon atoms in the esters. It was believed that the formation of a stable five‐member ring structure in molecules involving coordination of the nitrogen atom with boron contributes substantially to the resistance to hydrolysis of such compounds.
