Precise control of the spatial and spectral properties of surface‐plasmon‐polariton waves is necessary in order to support the growing interest in both research and applications of plasmonic waves. In this review, the variety of different approaches and methods that enable manipulation and shaping of the spatial and spectral properties of plasmonic waves, are presented, with an emphasis on the utilization of holographic methods for this purpose.
