Key points The job of society publishers is to carry out the directives and achieve the goals set by the organization's elected and volunteer leaders. Society journals form an integral part of the work and outreach of the society and its mission. Scholarly societies help develop new findings and individual careers, and a publications outlet supports both of these activities.
