Key points American university presses have widely varying organizational and cultural relationships with their host institutions. A survey of primarily US university presses, including the University of Georgia Press, reveals a range of strategies, most of which involved close collaboration with the parent organization. Of 44 presses responding to the survey, 43 said that they purposely align their mission and publishing activities with those of their host institution.
