Key points Library discovery systems have become successfully embedded in many academic and specialist libraries. Such systems require excellent metadata to ensure discoverability of content and increasingly publishers are charged with delivering that. Libraries’ traditional role in organizing their collections for effective discovery is being usurped by these outsourced systems.
