In industrial materials processing applications using high‐brilliance multikW lasers there is an increasing demand to continuously monitor the process status even in passive components such as fiber‐optic cables. While monitoring the sensor signals for system safety the information can also be used for live process monitoring. By using integrated active sensors inside the process fiber a compact and robust solution for industrial manufacturing can be achieved.
