The welding of large scale closed plastic components with integrated functional elements inside is always a challenge to producers, just think for example of the reachable joint tolerances, depending on the method used. To also use laser beam welding in this application field, Jenoptik's Lasers & Material Processing division has developed a welding system with an in sections on/off switchable diode laser line.
