A new thoracic duct cannulation needle has been created by modifying a Vim‐Silverman biopsy needle. Its use in 10 experiments is described. The needle was shown to facilitate cannulation by preventing lymph leakage and duct collapse. It allowed recannulation of the duct when the cannula clotted during long‐term thoracic duct drainage.
