BACKGROUND Vertiginous migraine (VM) was formally recognized in 2001 as an episodic vertigo that may also exhibit other migrainous symptoms. Treatment strategies typically are based on those for classic migraine, either as abortive or prophylactic therapy, and remain based largely on expert opinion and retrospective studies. A 2015 Cochrane Collaboration review was unable to identify a single study meeting their stringent inclusion criteria, highlighting the need for high-quality literature on this subject. Is there published data that can support treatment recommendations?
