Acknowledgments *In 2003, Dr. S. Piercy assigned this eponym for today’s Patulous Eustachian Tube disorders. I appreciate the support of the dedicated volunteer co-investigators. Most of all I admire the perseverance of those patients who suffered quietly until they found the correct explanation and treatment for their symptoms. This IND study was sponsored by the Ear Foundation of Santa Barbara and the author alone, without any NIH or governmental funding. Results The PET anomaly was determined not to be rare, but instead misdiagnosed for centuries.
