This paper reports on a project which analyzed the processes carried out by a unit within a public sector organization. The method used a combination of strategic and operational analysis tools. This combination proved to be complementary and effective in practice. The outcome of the study suggests that where a process analysis project has strategic considerations, as many do, then the use of strategic as well as operational analysis tools should be considered.
