The reactions of some perfluoroalkyl radicals with carbon tetrachloride have been studied using the photolysis of the corresponding perfluoroalkyl iodide as the free radical source. The Arrhenius parameters, based on the value of 2.3 × 10 13 cm 3 mol −1 s −1 for the self‐combination rate constant of all radicals are: TextReaction log( A /cm 3 mol −1 s −1 ) E /kcal mol −1CF 3 + CCl 4 12.8 11.3 C 2 F 5 + CCl 4 12.8 11.6n ‐C 3 F 7 + CCl 4 12.9 12.0
