Trimethylene sulfone and 3methyl sulfolane have been pyrolyzed using a modification of the toluene flow method and a comparative rate technique. The main decomposition reactions arewhere k 1 =10 16.1±0.3 exp(−28,100±500/ T ) sec −1 and k 2 =10 16.1±0.4 exp(−33,200±750/ T ) sec −1 .
