The decaying absorption of CH 3 radicals at 216.4 nm has been followed over more than three half‐lives using a photoelectric split‐beam kinetic spectrometer. The rate constant for recombination k r was found to be (5.60 ± 0.76) × 10 −11 cm 3 /molecule·s.
