Carbapenems were isolated using a Bond Elut PPL solid‐phase extraction cartridge and subsequently analyzed by ultra high performance liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry. This method is rapid, reliable, and sensitive. It is suitable for the confirmatory analysis of carbapenems in water samples, which is critical for the evaluation of its impacts on the emergence of carbapenem‐resistant pathogens in the environment.
