J. Sep. Sci. 2017, 40 , 4619–4627 DOI: 10.1002/jssc.201700712 The cover picture shows a 'Toroidal CE' layout, in which the analytes are electrodriven in a closed loop and quasi continuous mode. In this example, the capillary (torus) has four micro‐holes positioned inside the reservoirs. The resulting separation environment exhibits a physically smooth and chemically homogeneous surface along the whole lumen. Extremely high separation efficiencies are predicted. Its flexibility allows many new measurements to be taken, and has the potential to even further propel the great developments already achieved by the electromigration community.
