Sci . 2017, 40 , 702–708 DOI: 10.1002/jssc.201601094 The cover picture shows a rapid, reliable, and sensitive method for the simultaneous analysis of the novel pesticide pyrifluquinazon and its main metabolite NNI‐0101‐1H in fruits (strawberry and cherry) and vegetables (cucumber and tomato). The target analytes was extracted and cleaned up by a modified quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) procedure and then detected by high‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC‐MS/MS). The parameters that might affect the analysis were optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the developed method is proved reliable and effective for the routine monitoring of pyrifluquinazon and its metabolite NNI‐0101‐1H in fruits and vegetables to ensure food safety.
