J. Sep. Sci . 2017, 40 , 767–778 DOI: 10.1002/jssc.201601043 The cover picture shows the preparative separation and purification of bioactive compounds from the stem bark of Juglans mandshurica Maxim. with the help of high‐speed counter‐current chromatography. A crude J. mandshurica methanol extract was first separated by silica gel column chromatography to obtain three composition‐enriched target fractions, which were further purified by three independent high‐speed counter‐current chromatography to obtain 13 bioactive compounds with good medical and health care benefits. This work are expected to stimulate further research into the development of functional foods, pharmaceutical products, and bioassays from J. mandshurica .
