DOI: 10.1002/jssc.201301117 The cover picture illustrates a novel procedure for the preparation of covalently linked capillary coatings of poly(N‐vinyl aminobutyric acid) (PVAA, green layer) using the layer by layer self‐assembly technique with photosensitive diazoresin (DR, red layer) as coupling agents. The covalently bonded coatings can suppress protein adsorption on the inner surface of the capillary, resulting in baseline separation of representative proteins by capillary electrophoresis (CE). The method is green without employment of the toxic silanization reagents, and may find more application in bioanalysis.
