The Chromolith RP‐18e stationary phase (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany) was tested for the separation of biogenic amine neurotransmitters and their derivatives. Citrate, acetate, and phosphate buffer solutions with methanol and acetonitrile as modifiers were used as the mobile phases. The tested column proved its high efficiency for the separation of the compounds of interest, resulting in short retention times and permitting working with low pressure. Three gradient systems were developed. The best results were obtained for acetate buffer solution with methanol as the modifier. The system was applied to the analysis of urine samples.
