A simple and rapid reversed phase high‐performance liquid chromatographic method for separation and determination of elemental sulfur in technical thiophanate‐methyl using a reversed‐phase C 18 column and methanol‐water‐tetrahydrofuran (90 : 8 : 2 v/v/v ) as eluent with UV detection at 254 nm has been developed and validated with respect to accuracy, precision, specificity, linearity range, and limits of detection and quantification. The method was found to be suitable not only for detection but also determination of elemental sulfur at levels of 5×10 –9 g.
