Neck metastases secondary to thyroid cancer are rarely visualized scinti‐graphically in the presence of a functioning thyroid gland. We present a patient with cervical lymph node metastases that take up 99m Tc pertech‐netate in the presence of hyperfunctioning thyroid tissue and discuss the pathophysiology of this phenomenon.
