A 65‐year‐old man with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck was initially treated with radiation therapy and systemic chemotherapy resulting in a complete remission. Recurring tumor, 2½ years later, caused advanced destruction of most left hemi‐face tissues. Intraarterial infusion with cis‐dichlorodiammine platinum (CDDP) to a total dose of 125 mg resulted in a complete remission of 15 months duration. The value of the use of the intra‐arterial route in treating advanced head and neck tumors with CDDP is discussed.
