Previously, we observed close relationship between impairment of reaction to delayed hypersensitivity skin test and extent of bronchogenic carcinoma patients. Recently 3 patients with suspected carcinoma of the lung with hematogenous metastases demonstrated excellent reaction to the skin tests contrary to our past experience. Further work up demonstrated that these patients had primary carcinoma other than the lung in origin. The cases are reported to emphasize again the importance of skin tests in bronchogenic carcinoma.
