The use of a rapid, solid‐phase RIA for the quantitative measurement of serum LH‐HCG activity is described for use in the management of patients with GTN. The five‐hour test period permits more precise monitoring of drug therapy without compromising therapeutic effectiveness. The future implications of this new method in redesigning therapeutic regimens according to tumor cell kinetics is discussed.
