A patient with secondary chondrosarcoma of the scapula complicating diaphyseal aclasia treated by resection of the shoulder girdle by the method of Tikhov‐Linberg is reported. Good function in the dependent arm and hand were preserved. This technique of radical local excision for tumors of low grade malignancy about the shoulder girdle is occasionally a desirable alternative to an interscapulothoracic amputation.
