One hundred and four cases of villous tumors during a 19‐year period are reported, including 38 cases of villous adenoma and 40 cases of carcinoma arising in villous adenoma. These tumors are found in the rectum and rectosigmoid of patients who are mostly 50 years old or older. The majority of these tumors are malignant and the accuracy of diagnosis by biopsy is rather low. Villous tumors of the colon and rectum should be treated as cancerous growths, and radical resection is the preferred treatment.
