A rare intrapulmonary tumor (chemodectoma) detected by routine chest x‐ray is found in a 61‐year‐old white female. This is the fifth case of this tumor in this location reported in the literature. The tumor is of interest because it further documents the presence of chemoreceptors in the lung.
