The results of a clinical comparison among chemical peeling, dermabrasion, and topical application of 5‐fluorouracil show that the last treatment is the most efficacious, both as a treatment for actinic keratoses and as a prophylaxis against new lesions. The application of 5‐fluorouracil is also the easiest method to use and the most economical.
