The precise diagnosis of follicular thyroid lesions is frequently debated because of the subjective nature of capsular invasion as well as both the histological and cytological characteristics. Furthermore, several different prognostic indices have been devised to examine prognosis associated with thyroid cancer. Herein, we describe how these confounding elements can affect the ability to accurately predict prognosis for patients with follicular thyroid lesions. J. Surg.
