Abstract We report a stretchable, flexible, and adherable polarization volume grating (PVG) film and propose a compact optical system for augmented reality displays based on it. The Bragg reflection band shift, deflection angle change, and the mechanical robustness under stretch‐release cycles of the PVG film are also investigated.
