Quantitative estimation of chlorogenic acids in tea leaf ( Camellia sinensis ) at different stages of its development and during the harvesting season by application of thin layer chromatography has revealed that the stem contains the highest concentration of the acids. The concentration of the acids in plucking shoots, which comprise the terminal two leaves and the growing bud, varies during the harvesting season and is maximum in the monsoon season.
