The oils extracted from the seeds of four commercially important species of lupin seeds are all shown to contain significant quantities of both β‐carotene and zeaxanthin. One species contains a further pigment which is probably β‐carotene‐5:6:5 1 :6 1 ‐diepoxide, and another contains a closely related but so far unidentified carotenoid.
