A method for the analysis of the lysine content of feedstuffs employing acid hydrolysis followed by enzymic decarboxylation of lysine and subsequent gas‐liquid chromatographic (g.l.c.) analysis of the cadaverine produced, is described. The method is relatively rapid and a comparison of the results from a wide range of feedstuffs analysed by g.l.c. and by conventional ion‐exchange chromatography gave confidence in the method.
