Some measurements have been made of the draw‐bar pull during autumn and late winter ploughing of soils of different texture and following different treatments. Periods under grass reduce the force required for ploughing. Farmyard manure applied at 75 t/ha annually was found to have lowered the draw‐bar pull on ploughing significantly after six years.
