Ferrozine [3‐(2‐pyridyl)‐5,6‐bis(4‐phenylsulfonic acid)‐1,2,4‐triazine] was found to be a satisfactory colorimetric reagent for the quantitative determination of iron in the leaves of Spinacia oleracea and Porphyra petens and, by inference, in all plant materials.
