A method is described for the analysis by gas chromatography of nonyl alcohol vapour at a concentration of about 0.1 mg/l in the air of potato stores. Automatic estimations were made with the help of a heated sampling valve fitted with a polytetrafluoroethylene sample loop and controlled by a timing circuit. The method of calibration and the results of an experiment with a commercial potato store are given.
