Concentrated griseofulvin spent broth was examined as to its value as a liquid fertiliser. When diluted, and the nitrogen level adjusted, the broth was shown to compare favourably with a proprietary liquid fertiliser. The material contained the natural plant hormone indol‐3‐ylacetic acid and the griseofulvin which remained in the broth conferred some protection against powdery mildew on wheat plants.
