The acetone‐soluble milk fat of the eland has been analysed. The saturated and mono‐unsaturated fatty acids have been separated and determined quantitatively by reversed‐phase paper chromatography in the system undecane‐acetic acid. Polyunsaturated acids, both conjugated and non‐conjugated, are also present in small quantities. A glyceride identical with palmito‐distearin has been isolated.
