Viscous aqueous seed dressings containing up to 16% of γ‐BHC, prepared for use as seed dressings against flea beetle attack on turnips and kale, did not impair germination when applied at 50 ml. per lb. of seed. The dressed seed dried quickly, was not dusty and was ready for drilling in about ±1/2 h. In field experiments one of these dressings, containing only 4% of γ‐BHC, was highly effective in controlling flea beetle on seedlings, even against attack occurring up to 3 weeks after the seed was sown.
