Normal‐acid fibre extracted from coarse fodders and faeces has been analysed for its content of lignin, true cellulose, cellulosan, protein and ash. Digestion with n‐H 2 SO 4 for 1 h. removes a large proportion of the protein and cellulosan, some of the true cellulose, but little, if any, of the lignin from the original material.
