Seven sugars and a neutral glucoside have been detected in the 80% ethanol extract of red clover. The sugars have been tentatively identified as xylose, glucose, fructose, sucrose, a fructosyl‐fructose, a fructosyl‐glucose and an isomer of raffinose. The concentration of these compounds has been measured in the leaves and in the stems.
