A long series of chlorinated bisphenoxy‐, bisphenylthio‐ and phenoxy(phenylthio)‐methanes are prepared and tested for ovicidal and, in some cases, nymphicidal activity, some of the compounds showing high activity. The relation of position of chlorine substituent to activity is discussed. The compounds showed low degree of persistence on the plants tested.
