The formula of the glycoside karakin, which occurs in karaka nuts (Corynocarpus laevigata), was previously reported as C 20 H 30 O 19 N 4 . It has now been corrected to C 15 H 21 O 15 N 3 , confirming the analysis of Carrie. Diacetylkarakin, C 19 H 25 O 17 N 3 , has been prepared in a crystalline form, confirming the revised formula for karakin. It is now shown that the probable formula for the glycoside is 1:4: 6‐tris‐(β‐nitropropionyl) D‐glucopyranose.
