Solid hydrazinium hexafluorosilicate (N 2 H 6 SiF 6 ) belongs to the orthorhombic system with a Pbca space group ( a = 7.603, b = 7.594, c = 8.543 Å). An assignment of the infrared and Raman bands of this compound was made based both on literature data and on factor group analysis. The formation of N—HF hydrogen bonds contributes considerably to the crystal cohesion. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
